The exhibition itinerary of the Museum of the Castle of San Giusto opens with an introductory room dedicated to the history of the site and the urban development of Trieste, told through ancient views, period photographs, and a model from the early 20th century depicting the city before its expansion in the 18th and 19th centuries.
To complete this introductory section, we have created a video with 3D reconstructions illustrating the birth and evolution of the city of Trieste. The film offers a clear and engaging overview of the main phases of urban development, with particular attention to places of major historical interest, such as the Roman amphitheater, the Cathedral of San Giusto, and the Castle.
The reconstruction was developed in close collaboration with historical experts, ensuring scientific accuracy and consistency with the sources. The video is a tool for disseminating and promoting cultural heritage, designed to enrich the visitor's experience within the museum.

The 3D reconstructions in the video are based on the integration of numerous historical sources, from the careful analysis of paintings, drawings, and historical maps of Trieste to the photogrammetric acquisition of the model of the medieval city.
The visual style chosen is minimalist, with the aim of making the evolution of the city immediately understandable, avoiding chromatic or decorative elements that could distract the observer. The buildings emerge from the ground like living organisms, growing and transforming over time, visually accompanying the historical narrative.
Having to retrace more than 4,000 years of evolution, a uniform monochromatic color scheme was adopted for the buildings to maintain visual consistency, contributing to an essential and elegant graphic language.
